Cookie Policy

Effective April 27, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you interact with content. FlickBook uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) to deliver and improve the Service.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They include session cookies that keep you logged in, CSRF protection tokens, and load-balancing cookies.

  • session_id — maintains your authenticated session (expires: session)
  • csrf_token — protects against cross-site request forgery (expires: session)
  • lb_affinity — routes requests to the correct server (expires: session)

Functional Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences and settings to provide a more personalized experience.

  • theme_pref — remembers your light/dark mode preference (expires: 1 year)
  • lang_pref — remembers your language setting (expires: 1 year)
  • onboarding_seen — tracks whether you've completed onboarding (expires: 6 months)

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Service — which pages are visited, where users come from, and how long they stay. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

  • _fb_analytics — session and page-view tracking (expires: 2 years)
  • _fb_ref — referral source tracking (expires: 30 days)

We do NOT use third-party advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.

3. Third-Party Services

Certain features of the Service rely on third-party providers who may set their own cookies:

  • Payment processing: our payment provider uses cookies to detect fraud and maintain payment session state during checkout
  • Maps: if you use location-based features, our maps provider may set cookies to render maps correctly

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these providers for details on their cookie practices.

4. Cookie Duration

Cookies we set fall into two duration categories:

  • Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a set period (1 month to 2 years depending on purpose) or until you delete them

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

  • Browser settings: most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through settings. Refer to your browser's help documentation.
  • Opt-out tools: for analytics, you can opt out via your account settings under Privacy > Data & Analytics
  • Do Not Track: we honor Do Not Track (DNT) signals for analytics cookies

Please note: disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Service. Disabling functional cookies may cause your preferences not to be saved between sessions.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features or as laws change. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
